The Finalists for each category are listed below, and their nominations are being presented to our esteemed panel of independent judges on Tuesday 6th December 2011. The Judging Day is facilitated by Oliver Sidwell and Lizzie Brock from RMP who initially whittled down a record 300+ entries to create the Finalists, with the judges deciding on the overall winners for each category to be announced at the National Placement & Internship Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 18th January 2012 at City University, London.

Best Placement & Internship Employer

The Headline Award 'Best Placement & Internship Employer' recognises the large company (over 250 employees) that has received the highest scoring reviews written by students on RateMyPlacement.co.uk.

The ‘Best Placement & Internship Employer’ sits at the of the increasingly coveted Top 50 Placement & Internship Employers table for 2012/2013. The Top 50 Placement & Internship Employers table for 2011/2012 can be seen here, this was publicly announced on 3rd September 2011 in The Telegraph and within our ‘A Students’ Guide to the Top 50 Placement & Internship Employers’ publication which is distributed to career conscious students on campuses nationwide. So, how can you get involved.

The deadline for reviews has now closed. The winner will be announced at the Awards Ceremony in London on the 18th January 2012.

Best Medium-sized Employer

UCAS

New for 2012, this Award recognises the Medium-sized Employer (more than 250 employees/less than 14 students on a placement/internship scheme) that has received the highest scoring reviews written by students on RateMyPlacement.co.uk. The Award will be given to the employer who impresses the judges with their attitude to work experience and the value they place on students across the business.

The deadline for reviews has now closed. The winner will be announced at the Awards Ceremony in London on the 18th January 2012.

Best Small to Medium-sized Enterprise

This Award recognises the Small to Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) that has consistently received high scoring reviews written by students on RateMyPlacement.co.uk. The Award will be given to the company who impresses the judges with their attitude to work experience and the opportunities they offer to students.

Stafford Long

This is an Award to promote inclusion and diversity in work experience for all students within a company. The company may have a diverse attitude to staff whilst on their placement, they may run recruitment initiatives aimed at increasing the diversity of their intern and placement students or they may just be a highly diverse place to get work experience.

Best On-Campus Marketing Campaign

This is an Award to recognise and reward those employers who have gone that little bit further than the standard attendance at Careers Fairs and online advert! We are looking for entries from employers who reach out to students in unique ways and like to do things a bit differently when it comes to on-campus student marketing. Whether it was an event, a campaign at particular universities or something targeted to increase the diversity and inclusivity of your scheme/s, we want to hear about it! Joint entries are welcome and encouraged from employers and recruitment advertising agencies.

Best University Placement / Careers Service

This Award celebrates the tireless and invaluable contributions made by the University Placement or Careers Service in helping students apply and maximise their work experience opportunities.

For students, the placement or careers service may have gone beyond the call of duty or simply provided incredible support, advice and information in the search for a placement opportunity to students. If the Placement or Careers Service was fundamental in helping students find a placement or internship, then nominating them below will provide them with the recognition they deserve!

Most Improved Commitment to Employability

ACCA

Previously known as The University with a Forward Thinking Attitude to Work Based Learning, this Award celebrates the improved efforts and services provided by a University / Placement or Careers Service / Department in helping students apply and maximise their work experience opportunities.

Many experts (including the RateMyPlacement Team!) claim that work based learning is the long-term key to success - not only for a student’s development, but for the UK economy. Students gaining a relevant work based learning experience before they graduate is becoming of increasing importance and this Award is designed to recognise the University / Placement or Careers Service / Department that have shown commitment to improving their services to students over the last few years.
